With PAX and GDC now a distant memory, but this train doesn't stop! We're now looking forward to next week which marks the long awaited release of Snake Pass and our return to one of our favourite UK events - EGX Rezzed!
Back To The Beginning - EGX Rezzed
That's right, NEXT WEEK Snake Pass will be heading back down to London's Tobacco Docks for EGX Rezzed, the place where it all truly started to begin for our little slithery platformer and we honestly cannot wait. With that said, let me tell you a little story.
Over a year ago a team of four of us descended upon London's Tobacco Dock to showcase a little-known title at quite a major event. One Wednesday afternoon, we hightailed it down from Sheffield to the venue, not really knowing what we would find or how the public would react. Essentially we were going in completely blind. We knew we had 2 places booked and we knew we were taking our own PC's, but outside of that, that was it. Needless to say, when we got and saw our artwork prominently displayed, looking incredibly crisp and beautiful - it all became very real, very quickly.
Of course, that little title was what would become the Snake Pass of today and that major event was EGX Rezzed. Rezzed holds quite a special place in the teams heart; we've told the story hundreds of times across the globe, but it was that event and the public that it attracted that reaffirmed to us that we were on the right track with the game. It was the feedback from the public from Rezzed that encouraged us to put Snake Pass into full production the following Monday. 12 months later, here we are again, this time touting 10 pods, showcasing all platforms and partnering with our friends at RockPaperShotgun and Xbox in each of their respective areas.
So, if you're heading down to EGX Rezzed, stop by, come say hi and if you haven't picked it up by that point, come give Snake Pass a whirl! We're sure you'll love it as much as we do <3
The Art Of Snake Pass - Third Dev Diary Released
Talking of Snake Pass' journey, the game has certainly changed over the past year too. It's crazy to think that a little over a year ago Noodle looked a heck of a lot different and Doodle hadn't even been thought of. If you're interested in seeing how the games art style developed over the past year, you're not going to want to miss our latest dev diary!
That about covers it for this week, but we've certainly got some special things lined up for next week.. just 5 more days to go until our release, we hope you're as excited as we are!
