As many of you know, on Wednesday Snake Pass Update 1.2 was released across all platforms. Whilst there’s been plenty of incredible feedback we also aware that some of you have had some issues with the update. Most notably we’re aware that a number of users on the Nintendo Switch have been experience excessive rumbling of the Joy-Con controllers. We just wanted...
Update 1.2 has arrived for Snake Pass and with it, a host of fixes and a few new features. One of the things we’re incredibly excited about is being able to bring Time Trial mode and leaderboards to the Nintendo Switch!
When we first set out to make Snake Pass, one of the very first things we decided upon is that we wanted the overall experience to be identical across all versions. Whilst that was true when the game released on March 28th, due to time constraints we just weren’t able to fit everything in. With Update 1.2 that all changes! It makes us incredibly happy to bring the final piece of the puzzle to Nintendo Switch fans, bringing the Switch into parity with the feature sets of all other consoles.
Time Trial is a brand-new game mode that will test your snake charming skills to their limits. Every second counts as you race Noodle and Doodle across the mountainous peaks once more! Just remember, this is a race and time is not on your side! Compete against friends and players from around the world to try and make it to the top of the leaderboards!
We’ve been seeing a lot of tactical slithering going on across Xbox One, PS4 and PC and we cannot wait to see how you guys on Nintendo Switch take to the mountains. Just remember, all you need to do is THINK LIKE A SNAKE!
Let The Race Begin…Again!
Not long after Snake Pass was released, tonnes of you were jumping into Time Trials across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to see who could claim the highly-coveted title of the world’s top snaker! Whilst we were thrilled (but secretly seething…) to see so many of you put our own scores to shame, it became quickly apparent that a small number of players had discovered several exploits in the game that gave them an unfair advantage in the great leaderboard race of 2017.
With the release of update 1.2 several fixes have been included on all platforms that remove these exploits from the game, making leaderboard progress much more friendly. No more turbo charged Noodles for you! This also means that some of the times are no longer even vaguely beatable from this point onwards…
With that in mind, we have decided that it is in the best interests of keeping things competitive and with Nintendo Switch players joining the fray, ONE WEEK after update 1.2’s release, we will be resetting all the current leaderboards. That means that the title of ultimate snaker will be back up for grabs and the race will well and truly be on. We look forward to seeing what times you guys will be recording this time round and maybe…just maybe…we’ll stand a chance of beating them this time round!
That about wraps it up for this week, but stick around as we’ll have some more news and events coming up soon!
